Workout of the Month: Childhood Favorites Make a Comeback
It’s time to ditch your boring indoor workout and head out into the light! Some of your favorite childhood activities are making a cameo in this month’s workout. They’re not only fun but they’ll help get you into great shape. If you’re just starting a regular workout regimen, these are great exercises to get you up to speed and increase your endurance. So unravel your jumprope, dust off that hula hoop, and step outside!
Hula Hoop
Hula hooping is great for toning and defining your lower body. It focuses on your glutes, thighs and abs.
Much like jump roping, hula hooping is a fantastic way to burn calories and speed up your blood flow, making your body work hard for oxygen and therefore increasing the effectiveness of your workout.
If you’re not used to working out regularly, hula hooping can help you increase your aerobic endurance. Although it may not seem like exercise (probably because it’s so fun), hula hooping is a great workout because of how much it increases your heart rate.

Jumprope

- Tones muscles throughout the entire body and helps increase coordination.
- Optimizes cardiovascular conditioning by combining agility, coordination, timing, and endurance.
- Perfect workout for travelers. A jumprope is super portable, and since it works your entire body, there’s no need to hit the hotel’s fitness center.
