To keep your entire body strong, fit and fabulous, you must start with a strong core. The muscles that form your core are located in your back, pelvis, hip and abdomen. These are important areas for creating a strong foundation to start building your upper and lower body strength. When exercising outdoors, keep in mind that in the summer heat, you can quickly become dehydrated. Keep your skin protected and your body well hydrated. 

Begin in the prone position [on your belly], keeping arms and legs extended and straight.
Keeping your head up, slowly lift your arms and legs* until you begin to feel tightness in your back. Hold this position for two seconds.
Return to starting position and repeat 15 times.
V Sit-UpSitting on your rear, with arms and legs fully extended, slowly reach your fingers to your toes.*
If necessary, these moves can be modified by bending the knees.
Return to starting position and repeat 15 times.
*Do not flop your arms and legs. These moves must be performed slowly and with control in order to achieve the highest level of efficiency.
